Peach Muffins topped with delicious cinnamon crumb topping and vanilla glaze is the best easy muffins recipe to celebrate summer and the early fall season!
Late summer/early fall season is the perfect time for baking! Just think about all the seasonal fruits and berries you can incorporate in your delicious treats, like Strawberry Pie, Blueberry Hand Pies, Healthy Triple Berry Crisp, or even Panna Cotta with Strawberry Sauce.
Peaches are one of my favorite fruits to use in baking. Did you already try my popular Peach and Blueberry Coffee Cake or Rustic Peach Galette?
Here is another recipe for you to make during the peach season.
These Peach Muffins topped with cinnamon crumb topping and vanilla glaze became my new favorite treat!
How to make Peach Muffins.
The base recipe for these muffins is very similar to my Red Velvet Cupcakes and Chocolate Cupcakes with Caramel Filling. I love to use buttermilk in my cupcakes and muffins as it makes them soft and airy.
To start, preheat your oven to 350°F, line a muffin pan with paper muffin cups and set aside.
Mix your dry ingredients (all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt) in a mixing bowl and set aside.
In a standing mixer, using a paddle attachment, beat together butter and granulated sugar for about 5 minutes. You want them to become very pale and fluffy. It will help your muffins to have that airy consistency.
When ready, add eggs, vanilla extract, and buttermilk. Mix well until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
Then you can add dry ingredients, and using a spatula, fold it in. I like to use my spatula to mix dry ingredients because it prevents overmixing, which can make your muffins tough.
Add peeled and diced peaches to the mixture and fold it in as well.
Divide the batter between 12 muffin cups.
In a smaller mixing bowl, mix together brown flour, sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter. Using a fork, mix together until you have crumbles.
Spoon the crumbles on top of the muffins and bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
When the muffins are done, take them out of the oven and let them sit in the muffin tin for about 10 minutes, then remove them to a wire rack to cool off completely.
For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract and drizzle it over the muffins.
