How to make Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry

Step 1.
In a small mixing bowl add cornstarch and water and stir until the cornstarch is completely dissolved.
Step 2.
Add low sodium soy sauce, brown sugar, grated fresh ginger, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes, then stir and set aside.
Step 3.
Cut the broccoli head into bite-size pieces and set aside. Slice the flank steak thinly (about ¼-inch thick) against the grain and set aside.
Step 4.
To the preheated skillet add oil and broccoli florets. Add water, cover with the lid, and cook for a few minutes. Remove the lid and finish cooking. Set aside.
Step 5.
Add the beef and cook it for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until cooked through. If the meat starts to release too much liquid, just scoop out the liquid and discard.
Step 6.
Add the sauce mixture and cook for a couple of minutes. Add broccoli and stir again to combine. Sprinkle some sesame seed on top and serve with a bowl of rice.
