This Mango Avocado Salsa is such an easy recipe that can be served in many different ways. You can have it as a dip with tortillas, as a topping with meat or fish, or even alongside your favorite tacos.

It takes no more than 15 minutes to put it together and you will love the combination of flavors. You’ll have fresh and sweet notes from a ripe mango, creaminess from avocado, crunchiness from red bell pepper and red onion, and flavor from cilantro. A squeeze of fresh lime juice and a few drops of olive oil bind everything together.

This will be a great Summer appetizer to serve for a party together with some Cherry Tomato Bruschetta, Simple Guacamole, Orzo Pasta Salad, Chicken Cobb Salad, Simple Charcuterie Board, and many other recipes!

Tips for best results

  • Spice it up. If you like your salsa a bit spicy, you can add some finely chopped jalapeno or serrano peppers.
  • Make sure you use ripe mangoes, as they have more sweetness and juices.

How to serve it

There are so many ways you can serve this recipe. Here are a few of my favorites:

  • Dip. Serve it as an appetizer dip with your favorite tortilla chips. You can serve it together with my Simple Guacamole and Avocado Dip Recipe.
  • Tacos. It will be a great addition to your tacos that are made with fish, beef or chicken.
  • Topping. I love to serve it with different type of fish, like in my recipe for Salmon with Mango Salsa.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it keep?

Because we have avocado in this recipe, it’s better to consume this salsa the same day. If you still have leftovers and need to refrigerate, I would suggest to add a bit more lime juice to it and mix. That will prevent the avocado from browning too fast. Transfer to an air-tight container and refrigerate overnight.

Can I use frozen mango?

No. It’s better to use fresh and ripe fruit. If you use a frozen one, it will be too watery after defrosting.

Can you make it ahead without the avocado and add it before serving?

Hi Ellen! Yes, you can prep it a day before and refrigerate overnight. Just add avocado before ready to serve 😉

    Hi,

This was really yum! I make brushetta with a tomatoe and avocado salsa and had no tomatoes. I was looking for salsa recipes and chose this one because I had all the ingredients except for the red pepper and used 1 mango instead of 2. It was delicious!!! This is now a favourite! Thank you for sharing. Thx Tia.

I just recently made a mango salsa myself, and the same day I also made guacamole. But I didn’t think about just adding avocado to the mango salsa. Great idea! I’ll have to try this.

Down there in the land of Tex-Mex, this is certainly a great thing to add. We have a favorite taco truck, and I added this salsa to our lunch. The cool mango and avocado was a great contrast to the spicy birria. Thank you!

Well since tacos is the national dish of Norway and Sweden (seriously!), I need to up my tacos game whenever I invite a Swede to my tacos nights. This goes straight to my recipe book, I never consider mango salsa but it looks so colourful and refreshing I’m sure it will win my guests’ hearts.

I love a great fruit salsa…though I often find it difficult to find decent mangoes here in Canada. If I find some, this salsa is happening! I bet it would be wonderful with chicken or fish.

What a refreshing change from regular tomato salsa. This is great for dipping. I would use it to top grilled chicken, or as a topping in fish tacos.
