Best Dry Rub for Wings
Do you use dry rub for your chicken wings? If not, you definitely should try it! It gives so much extra flavor of herbs and spices. I use the same mix for my Instant Pot Chicken Wings and Baked BBQ Chicken Thighs.
Ingredients for Seasoning:
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Paprika
- Cayenne
- Oregano
- Thyme
We also will need some olive oil for baking.
How to cook
Mix the seasoning ingredients in one bowl (½ tsp salt, ¼ tsp black pepper, ¼ tsp garlic powder, ¼ tsp onion powder, ¼ tsp paprika, ⅛ tsp cayenne, ½ tsp oregano, ½ tsp thyme), and set aside.
Wash and pat dry 2 pounds of wings and put them in a large mixing bowl. Pour 1 tbsp olive oil and mix. Then add the seasoning and toss well, so every piece is evenly covered.
Place them on a baking sheet with a wire rack.
How long to bake
Bake the chicken at 400°F for 45-50 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 170°F. Flip the wings halfway through.
How to make Buffalo Sauce
To make the Buffalo Sauce, we need only 3 ingredients:
- Hot sauce (I like to use Frank’s Hot Sauce)
- Melted Butter (it will provide the richness to the chicken)
- Honey (It will give a delicious sweet touch)
Just mix all the ingredients together.
Mix it together
When the wings are fully cooked, put them in a large mixing bowl. Pour the Buffalo sauce over and toss until evenly coated.
Serve with Ranch dressing and vegetables of your choice, like celery, carrots, peppers, etc.

Just made these last night using my oven’s air fry setting at 400 degrees. Hands down, tastiest, best homemade Buffalo Wings I’ve ever made. Super easy recipe – straight forward. Better than the frozen wings and so simple.
